Now let me be real with y’all… Toucans are very sensitive and high maintenance birds. They need an almost exclusive fruit based diet, low iron softbill pellets, and some occasional insects for enrichment. They also need LOTS of space, I’m talkin at least a 10x10 ft aviary for just one bird.
 
They don’t tolerate cold well (below 60°F) without proper heating and insulation, and they’re not the most cuddly birds… you WILL get bit, it’s just toucan behavior . This isn't to scare anyone off, it’s to help weed out the impulse buyers. These birds deserve the right homes with much consideration.
 
That said… owning a toucan has been one of the coolest experiences ever. They’ve got HUGE personalities, and nothing beats stepping into your yard and seeing a toucan staring back at you
