Red Capped Parrots are a striking Australian parrot species and are extremely rare in U.S. captivity, which makes them especially unique to work with. Their bold colors and elegant look really set them apart from more common parrot species. Males are particularly eye catching with their vibrant coloration, while females have a softer, more muted beauty of their own. The males are also known for their strong whistling ability and can learn a variety of tunes and sounds over time. Because of how rare they are, Red Capped Parrots are best suited for a breeder or conservation minded setup where they can help increase their numbers in captivity. There isn’t a lot of information available on them as traditional pets, but they are generally more of a hands off species that still enjoys being around people and sharing the same space, rather than being constantly handled. All babies are DNA sexed with certification and will come with a small amount of food to help transition to your preferred diet. Weaned on a custom blend that includes pellets, dry seed mix, dried fruit & nut mix, and a blend of herbs for a healthy start. They also receive fresh chop and sprouted seeds on occasion.
